The Alley (created in collaboration with The Arts Council of Indianapolis and Buckingham Companies) is an outdoor community gathering space where guests can experience live music and art in a casual setting.
Bembé is a family of musicians that were brought together in 2007 by David Lugo to promote cultural music from Puerto Rico through musical performances, workshops, and other musical activities and festivals. Over the years, the family has grown and evolved into becoming one of Indy’s favorite Latin bands – not only playing cultural music from Puerto Rico but also different Latin genres like Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, and Latin Rock throughout Indiana and nearby states.
Some of its members include David Lugo, Nelson Ocasio, Roberto Bergerón, Joel Rolón, Ezequiel Jimenez, Amado Velazquez, Cody Arnholt, Matt Walde, Micky Morales, and Larry Arone. Members are from different countries like Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Panama, Mexica, and the US – resulting in a unique sound that makes it very hard to resist moving your body. And if you feel like dancing but don’t know any moves, don’t worry – a salsa instructor will be at the show to help out anyone who wants to learn!
There are plenty of street parking options around our new location. You’re also welcome to park for free in the Buckingham lot (located at Meridian & 10th). If you’re feeling especially fancy, valet parking is available for $10.
