Stagequest Indy presents “Bed Play” by playwright Shar Steiman, a play that revolves around one main prop: a bed. It follows the intimate lives of four queer individuals learning how to navigate sex, dating, and friendships. The play moves through scenes and soliloquies all in slam poetry and rhyme.

What’s your relationship with your bed? Would you spend the whole day there? When you oversleep, is there guilt? How many visitors have you hosted in your bed?

A wants to use or be used in many beds with many people but gets “used” to one bed in particular.

B wants to stay in bed with the right person all day…how much Doordash is embarrassing?

C is sickened by the stench of past “dirty laundry” in her bed and wants a clean start.

D is searching for resale and rebirth by posting their bed on Craigslist and gets an unexpected nibble.
