The 2023 American Pianists Awards feature five finalists—Caelan Cardello, Esteban Castro, Paul Cornish, Thomas Linger and Isaiah J. Thompson—vying for the $200,000 top prize in the world’s largest jazz competition.
All five artists kick things off with a Jazz on the Ave, a free community concert on September 18, before each visits Indianapolis for a Premiere Series performance over the next five months. The competition culminates April 22, 2023 with the Gala Finals at Hilbert Circle Theatre featuring guest vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant.
