Fall Fest at Central Library

Fall Fest at Central Library

Presented by The Indianapolis Public Library at Central Library

Join us on Saturday, November 19 from 12 – 4 p.m. at Central Library for our 2022 Fall Fest! Our special guest is Kevin Richardson – The Central Park 5.

When 14-year-old Kevin Richardson, a member of the Exonerated Five, entered New York City’s Central Park on a spring evening in 1989, he had a child’s concerns. The eighth-grade student was arrested on his way home that night alongside four other Black and Hispanic teens and faced a nightmarish journey through the criminal justice system. The youths, known as the Central Park Five, spent day after day, year after year, in custody for a brutal crime they did not commit.

Students are invited to participate in the Slammin’ Rhymes Contest!
Slammin’ Rhymes is a contest for all poets, rappers and spoken word artists in grades 7-12. If you are interested in participating, submit an entry online at indypl.org. All entries receive a gift card! Ten selectees will read their entry at Fall Fest. The deadline to enter is October 30, 2022.
