Lost Objects is a show of recent ceramic work by Andrew Perry Davis. Artifacts and antique toys inspire many of the forms he sculpts. The doll-like figures are both familiar and ambiguous. Inspiration often comes from studying how something is put together or how the surface is wearing off. Davis recycles animal characters to explore different human qualities, giving them a lingering sense of mystery. Elements that seem out of place prompt the viewer to play with their own references and interpretations.
The show will be up November 1 through 30. Join the artist for a reception Friday, November 4 from 6-9 p.m. at Fountain Square Clay Center. Presented by the Indy Clay Co-op.
This is a free event.
