The Indianapolis Society of the Classical Guitar is pleased to present Nikola Begovic in concert.
Nikola began his guitar studies at the age of 6 and by the time he completed his secondary education, he had won numerous awards and achievements. At the same time, Nikola achieved his first success at the provincial and national competitions, winning many awards/prizes.
In 2010, Nikola enrolled at the Academy of Arts – University of Novi Sad, Serbia, where he studied with Professor Zoran Krajisnik and graduated with the highest honors in 2015. During this period, he performed in several neighboring countries in the region and competed and won multiple awards from international competitions such as the Guitar Open Festival in Subotica, where he won first prize in the Pro category (Guitar Open Festival 2011), III prize in the Pro category in Sarajevo International Guitar Fest (SIGF 2012), III prize in Skopje, North Macedonia Pro category (International Tremolo Guitar Fest 2011), laureate and winner (XI International Competition in Leskovac, Serbia). At the Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade, Serbia, in 2014, his chamber group won first place in the Chamber music category. In 2017 Nikola won the first prize at Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Scholarship Competition in the Graduate Instrumental category.
Nikola is in his fourth year of Doctoral studies at the Jacobs School of Music at IU, working on his dissertation and finishing his degree.
