Harrison Center First Friday Gallery Opening

Harrison Center First Friday Gallery Opening

Presented by Harrison Center at Harrison Center for the Arts

– The Love We Breathe by India Cruse-Griffin in the Harrison Gallery. This collection of mixed media collages and paintings explores multiple aspects of love: for family, places, faith, and life.
– Kefi by Tashema Davis in the Gallery Annex. A series of oil portraits of brown and black little girls in juxtaposition to traditional American cartoon princesses. Kefi, a Greek word, roughly translates to the spirit of joy, passion, euphoria, enthusiasm, exuberance, or frenzy.
– The Future DNA, a group show curated by WE ARE Indy Arts in the Speck Gallery. An exhibit celebrating Black History Month featuring all black artists.
– Autumn / Winter by Brendan Day in the City Gallery. A series of seasonal landscape paintings reflecting various routes and locales from the artist’s day-to-day life in Indianapolis.
– New work by John Clark in the Hank & Dolly’s Gallery. Clark’s work is inspired by the Dadaist period and is informed by irreverence and wit. He creates using found objects and imagery and finds line and form inside those objects and extracts them.
– REEVALUATION by Israel Solomon in the Underground Gallery. Through this series of geometric acrylic paintings, the artist processes and reevaluates his relationships, work, and own worth and value.

All shows will open at 6 pm Friday, February 3rd.
