Harrison Center First Friday Gallery Opening

Presented by Harrison Center at Harrison Center for the Arts

Infinite Lineage by Alicia Zanoni Lawrence in the Harrison Gallery. Scenes of nature and figures interweave in this collection to explore cycles of life. These paintings are inspired by the idea of the earth’s generations, from the layers of soil built over time to the physical features we inherit from our great grandparents. Each life is given as a gift from its ancestors, down to the twirling maple helicopter seed, and this lineage stretches infinitely behind and in front of us.

Generation by Robert J Hoffman, Barb Knuckles, and Beth Sanders in the Gallery Annex. A group exhibition featuring a variety of media exploring the concept of “generation”, the act or process of generating or bringing something into being through production, manufacturing, or procreation.

On This Earth by Donna Shortt in the Speck Gallery. Shortt’s representational landscape oil paintings and pastels depict her deep appreciation of the earth, the water, and the sky in differing climates and seasons.

Unplugged by Shaunt’e Lewis in the City Gallery. A collection of needle punch fiber art celebrating strong women and referencing fashion, illustration, and Indianapolis.

Entering In by Erin Hall in the Hank & Dolly’s Gallery. This exhibit features a range of mediums including acrylic paintings, mixed media, and illustrations that hold tension between beauty and grit, bright and dingy, poverty and perseverance, and presence and distance.

INTROSPECT by Rebecca Robinson in the Underground Gallery. This new work examines the artist’s ideas, thoughts and feelings through mixed media.

All shows will open at 6 pm Friday, March 3rd.
