Indy Jazz Fest (IJF) and the Indianapolis Art Center present…

JAZZ AT THE CENTER • BOBBY BROOM FT. THE INDIANAPOLIS JAZZ COLLECTIVE

Join us at the Indianapolis Art Center for the second of three shows in our third annual summer concert series Jazz at the Center on Thursday, July 20 at 7:00PM!

Bobby Broom is an American jazz guitarist, composer, and educator. He was born and raised in New York City, then moved to Chicago, which has been his home town since 1984. He performs and records with The Bobby Broom Trio and his organ group, The Bobby Broom Organi-sation. While versed in the traditional jazz (bebop and post-bop) idioms, Broom draws from a variety of American music forms, such as funk, soul, R&B, and blues.

IJF Artistic & Education Director Rob Dixon says that Bobby was the first choice to pay tribute to Indy legend Wes Montgomery.

“Bobby is a modern-day jazz icon that has apprenticed with the likes of Tom Browne, Sonny Rollins, and many more great jazz musicians. We couldn’t think of a more perfect nationally-known guitarist to pay homage to Wes Montgomery.”

Tickets are $25 in advance and are also available in a full series package (entrance to all three shows) for $20 (all three shows for $60). Children 12 and under are free.

In the event of inclement weather on the day of the show, we will alert you of the cancellation. The “rain date” for this show is Wednesday, July 26.
