The 57th Indianapolis Early Music Festival - Flûte Alors

The 57th Indianapolis Early Music Festival - Flûte Alors

Presented by Indianapolis Early Music at Indiana History Center

Friday, July 7, 7:30 PM

Kaleidoscope

Six Centuries of recorder music from the Renaissance to the present.

Flute Alors! from Montreal

This recorder quartet features Alexa Raine-Wright, winner of the first Indianapolis International Baroque Competition, and Vincent Lauzer, Audience Prize winner in that same competition.

Both of these performers enchanted listeners when they competed.

They are performing music for recorder consort from the Renaissance to the present, truly a kaleidoscope of musical offerings — Purcell, Vivaldi, Bach, even a piece by Alexa’s mentor, Mattias Maute. The program ends with an arrangement of that ancient early music favorite, “The Girl From Ipanema!”
