The Pain and Release Veteran Art Therapy Exhibition showcases a poignant collection of artworks created by veterans in Herron School of Art and Design’s art therapy groups.
Featuring pieces crafted both under the guidance of art therapy groups and through the veterans’ personal explorations, Pain and Release aims to not only showcase the artistry of veterans but also to honor the emotional work and growth demonstrated in their creations.
Central to many of these works are the themes of pain and release, which are depicted in various forms and intensities, often fluctuating day by day. The act of expressing pain through art can be a deeply therapeutic process, leading to a cathartic release. Each veteran’s journey with these themes is unique, reflecting their individual experiences and emotions. The Pain and Release exhibition invites viewers to witness the profound impact of art as a tool for healing and self-expression.
