Quite a few of the main musicians who are credited with originating progressive rock music wrote pieces or albums which have Christian theology as its subject matter, often in unique and unexpected ways.  This presentation is based on a chapter of a book being cowritten by Felice and Dr. James McGrath on theology and progressive rock, focusing on the song Freewill by the Canadian progressive hard rock band Rush. as an illustration of freewill vs. election (an aspect of a Christian’s belief) central tenets of two branches of the faith, Arminianism and Calvinism.
