See the Indiana Landmarks Center at the former Central Avenue Methodist Church on free public tours each Friday and Saturday, May through October.Â
Â
45-minute tours highlight the history of the former church — once the largest Methodist congregation in the state — including its legacy in Indianapolis. Learn about the church’s decline and the building’s endangered status before a multi-million-dollar restoration transformed it into a spectacular new cultural venue and state headquarters for Indiana Landmarks.
Â
You’ll see the restored public spaces, and go behind the scenes for a look at modern updates that make the nineteenth-century church a twenty-first-century marvel.Â
Â
Tours begin at 12 Noon in the main lobby of the building. No reservation required, except for groups of 10 or more.
