Explore meticulously detailed works of fine art created by some of the most renowned artists working in miniature. While some may think of tiny doll-house art when they hear the words ‘Minature Art’, it is in fact “fine original art done in small scale,” a long-lived art form that requires a uniquely refined talent and skill. Due to the minute size of the art it can take a miniature artist up to 6 times longer to complete than an artist working on a larger scale. “Miniature art is a unique art fine art form, tracing its origins from illuminated manuscripts and medallions. As a portable intimate form of art, it was easily carried in a pocket or a locket and basked in popularity from the court of Henry VIII up until the advent of photography in the mid 1800s.”, explains Wes Siegrist renowned Miniature Fine Artist and Historian. “These scaled works of art are truly treasures to behold, and often with a magnifying glass.”

For those that have never been to a miniature show this is an opportunity to see work by some of the most talented miniature fine artists working in America. The Miniature Artists of America (MAA), honors nationally outstanding professionals in American Miniaturism. Several works in the show were created by artists who are members of the (MAA) as well as the Society of Animal Artists (SAA).  Participating Artists, Elaine Hahn, Viviane De Kosinsky, Mary Serfass, and Akiko Watanabe were most recently inducted into the Miniature Artists of America in 2015.

Artistic Designs Gallery is proud to exhibit over 100 of these exquisitely detailed works in acrylic, oil, watercolor, graphite, colored pencil, pastel, porcelain, oil on ivorine, mixed media, etching, pen and ink. Subjects in this exquisite show include: landscapes, cityscapes, wildlife, portraits and still life.
