Primary Colours, in collaboration with FAB Crew, is pleased to present Post-Graffiti Abstracts, featuring the artwork of six Midwest graffiti writers. Through the exhibit, the six featured artists will continue the tradition of highlighting the Midwest as a premier destination for aerosol murals. Participating in the show are artists 6Cents, Ruben Aguirre, Danny Babcock, Mike Graves, Ben Long, and Ismael Muhammad Nieves. Exploring the culture of graffiti and street art, the artists will showcase the innovation and artistry of graffiti writing while also promoting the upcoming SubSurface Expo.?The six artists, in addition to graffiti writers from all over the world, will descend on Indianapolis to participate in the 11th Annual SubSurface Graffiti Expo August 30 through September 1.

The event, presented in collaboration between the BRIDGE Collective and FAB Crew, showcases the murals of leading graffiti artists while educating the general public in the understanding and appreciation of graffiti and street art. Occurring throughout Fountain Square, the Expo reaffirms the district’s dedication to beatification of the neighborhood, as well as a continued devotion to the Arts.

The launch party at Primary Gallery will coincide with the SubSurface Expo weekend. At the launch party, some of the artists will conduct a panel discussion addressing the dedication and mastery required for the art and the changing perception of this contemporary art movement. For the open house, attendees of the SubSurface Paint Days in Fountain Square will be invited to visit Primary Gallery.
