Vintage Movie Night presents: Metropolis

Vintage Movie Night presents: Metropolis

at Unknown

This summer, we’ve been enjoying classics from Science Fiction’s past! Film collector, historian and preservationist Eric Grayson has shared some of his favorite vintage films one night each month. Each film is preceded by a vintage cinematic ‘short’.

On Saturday, August 17, we present the last of this summer’s features: Fritz Lang’s 1927 classic dark vision of the machine age, “Metropolis”, starring Brigitte Helm and Gustav Frölich. In a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city’s mastermind falls in love with a working class prophet, who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences. Set to a rare live score. (Runtime: 153 minutes)
Ticket Price: $4 at the door. Value Packs (6 movies for $20) also available, and include one free popcorn.
