Matt Frucci: Layers

Matt Frucci: Layers

at Unknown

Indianapolis-based artist, Matthew Frucci will have his first solo show at Jarrett Engineering during IDADA’s First Friday, September 6 from 6-9pm. The show is presented at 1101 N. Pennsylvania Street in the Jarrett Engineering space, just north of Gallery 924 and just south of Indy Indie Gallery.

Most of Frucci’s images come from popular culture; movie clips, on-line images, magazines, and books. Most of the work is large, focusing on a detail with bold color and a lot of depth.

"Some of the images I’ve used for this show are quite simple as far as technique is concerned but require a tremendous amount of time to execute. Whenever I start a painting it’s only goal is to excite the imagination but never to make a statement. Because I go into a painting purely for its visual appeal I spend very little time concerned with what it might mean to someone else and am even less concerned with titles to describe it." M. Frucci, 2013
