Gavin Smith and Stuart Sayger GALLERY TOUR

at Unknown

The artwork of Gavin Smith & Stuart Sayger returns after the popular exhibit in the 2012-2013 season. These talented illustrators will again display the images from their varied work in comic book art. The "comics" are narrative artwork in the form of separate panels that represent individual scenes. Despite their name, comic books are not necessarily humorous in tone, and modern comic books tell stories in a variety of genres.

Gavin grew up in Peru, IN, but has lived in Indianapolis since graduating from Kubert School for Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, NJ. His artwork can be seen in his comic book, Human City, as well as other work for Blue Juice Comics, magazines, album covers and merchandising. Stuart is a self-taught artist from Indianapolis who works primarily in the comic book industry. His work is executed mostly in ink, gouache and oil and chalk pastels. His clients include DC Comics, Microsoft, Upperdeck trading cards and Warner Brothers. Stuart drew the comic Bionicle for Lego toys for two years, which was the largest circulated comic in the world.
