From the Privy to the Powder Room, by Gail Caskey Winkler, explores changes in American bathrooms between 1800 and 1925, when Americans went from “bathing optional” to best plumbed on earth.
An expert on American interiors, Winkler designed the interior restorations of many landmarks, including the Lincoln Summer White House in Washington, Pabst Mansion in Milwaukee, and Lanier Mansion in Madison, IN.
