In partnership with the 25th anniversary of the Indianapolis-Cologne Sister City Partnership, the Indiana German Heritage Society and the German Honorary Counsel for the State of Indiana, the Indiana State Library will host a presentation on the history and German roots of jazz in Indiana, and a jazz concert by a small group of jazz students from Cologne, Germany.

This is a first time event for the State Library. Starting at 2pm, there will be a reception, followed by a presentation on the history of Jazz in the state offered by Jazz great, David Baker and Jazz historian Duncan Schiedt, then a small group of jazz students from Cologne, under the direction of the award-winning German bass player, Andre Nendza will perform a selection jazz standards. This free concert is presented in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Indianapolis-Cologne Sister City Relationship.
