Grey Gardens artist reception/open studio night

at Unknown

The Harrison Center presents Grey Gardens, our annual holiday, color-themed group show and the final open studio night of 2013 on Friday, December 6 from 6 to 10pm. This year, we take our inspiration from the 1975 documentary, Grey Gardens which chronicled the lives of "Big Edie" and "Little Edie", the mother and daughter (Bouvier) Beales, cousins of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. The Harrison Gallery and Gallery Annex will be filled with the grey offerings of dozens of local artists with a wide variety of media represented.

The INDIEana Handicraft Exchange’s (IHE) Winter Mini will be held in the Harrison Center’s historic gymnasium with over 50 vendors and live music. IHE is a DIY contemporary craft fair that showcases the work of artists and crafters who use traditional crafting techniques mixed with a contemporary edge.

This month, the City Gallery features new work by painter, Jed Dorsey. The City Gallery exhibits place-based art inspired by urban Indianapolis neighborhoods. Hank & Dolly’s Gallery features new work by Rebecca Cisneros.

The Borshoff + Herron annual gallery show returns to Gallery No. 2 with this year’s exhibit, Words of Art.

The work hangs through December 27th.

Also that night, wander the Harrison Center, home to over 30 working artists whose studios will be open for the December 6 event.
