The 18th annual Art & Soul celebration will kick-off Friday, January 31, at Noon at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. The launch event will include special guest Amos Brown from Radio One, and a performance by Toy Factory. Guests will have the opportunity to meet this year’s four featured artists: E’JAAZ, Myah Evans, Kristina Sharpe, and Ash Robinson. Events will continue through the month of March and are free and open to the public.

Art & Soul is one of the most visible and exciting programs in the Indianapolis Artsgarden, and is hosted by the Arts Council of Indianapolis with generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc. It is an annual celebration of African-American art and artists in Indiana, featuring a diverse lineup of music, poetry, storytelling, dance, and visual arts. This event showcases some of the state’s most creative African-American artists beginning in coordination with black History Month. Since it’s inception in 1996, Art & Soul has become a highly anticipated annual tradition for the thousands who attend the festival, expanding their awareness and appreciation of African-American art.
