Grupo de Teatro VIDA presents Deseos y recelos (Suspicion and Desire), a collection of plays that explores human longing, corruption, and mistrust. We start in California where migrant workers become savvy to what goes on behind the scenes in the Chicano piece, Quinta temporada (1966) by Luis Valdez. Next we move to the jungles of Ecuador where a nagging fear proves to be something more in Demetrio Aguilera Malta's El tigre (1955). Finally, we enter into the hearth of a modest Guatemalan family, riddled with secrets and surprises in El tamal de nochebuena (1981) by José Antonio García Urrea. We are happy to include a special guest performance by the players from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
