State Museum's "Adventure Camp" to Motivate Learning

at Unknown

The Indiana State Museum will premiere Museum Adventure Camp, an all new five-day behind the scenes museum experience for children ages 9 to 12 years old, March 24 through 28.

Participants will visit current museum exhibitions, experience how pioneers settled the state, learn what it's like to participate in a paleontology dig and much more. "This is definitely one of my favorite activities during the year. As a former teacher, I enjoy watching campers become motivated to learn about art, science and culture," said Katy Creagh, Indiana State Museum School Programs Developer. "Through the Adventure Camp, children will learn about Indiana's rich history, all while being encouraged to make their own discoveries to showcase later in the week." Campers will also explore the museum's more than 500,000-piece collection, see where exhibitions are made on-site and visit the museum's paleontology and archaeology labs. At the close of camp, participants will showcase their own exhibition creations.
