"Indiana Icons" Exhibition

at Unknown

As part of the Conrad's 2014 art celebration, "Always in an Indiana State of Mind," Constance Edwards Scopelitis will have a solo exhibit in Long-Sharp Gallery. Long-Sharp Gallery will celebrate this exhibit at the IDADA First Friday on March 7 from 6-9 p.m. It will feature portraits of famous faces with strong ties to the state. Some of these include Kurt Vonnegut, Madame Walker, and Robert Indiana. Peruse these incredible works while enjoying Hoosier-themed appetizers and beverages.

In addition to the works created especially for the exhibit, Scopelitis and Long-Sharp Gallery invite you to submit your own "Indiana Icon," with the ultimate opportunity of receiving a sketch of that individual by Scopelitis. In order to suggest such an individual, we ask that you submit a name, as well as a story detailing why your nominee should be considered an Indiana Icon. These descriptions should be mailed to the Long-Sharp Gallery at Conrad Indianapolis, 50 West Washington, Indianapolis IN 46204. To be eligible for consideration, they should be post-marked by April 7, 2014. If Scopelitis selects your nominee, she will create a 9" x 9" inch pencil portrait (valued at $1,200) and present it to you at her studio before the end of the year.
