A Poet’s Journal of Healing

at Unknown

The poems in his new collection came to Krapf in four voices: the boy; the man he became; Mr. Blues, an elderly mentor and agent of healing; and the priest. Catholic Boy Blues traces the arc from childhood sexual abuse in the 1950s to a vision of healing at the end. Faith leaders will conduct an interfaith prayer for healing, and Prevent Child Abuse Indiana and other agencies will sponsor information booths about early identification and prevention of child abuse. A discussion will follow the reading, and the author will sign books available for purchase. Theologian Matthew Fox says in his introduction, “This collection of poems, this deep journey into the dark night of the abused soul, can prevent further death and lift some of the misery of the horrible experience of child abuse.” Rev. Michael O’Mara, the author’s pastor for nine years at St. Mary’s Parish, Indianapolis, says in the lead blurb: “[Krapf’s] courage to share this journey with us will be a resource for others who have experienced abuse and for their caregiver. The Holy Father should have a copy
