The Vonnegut Library hosts award-winning Hoosier writer Dan Wakefield on Friday, May 9, at the Vonnegut Library. Wakefield will hold a lecture/discussion and book-signing event on his recent release of his long-time friend Kurt Vonnegut’s collection of speeches to graduates, edited by Wakefield. The book, titled If This Isn't Nice What Is? Advice to the Young, includes some of Vonnegut’s greatest words of wisdom and quips. Wakefield, an Indianapolis resident, also edited and introduced the book Kurt Vonnegut Letters. Wakefield is the author of the memoirs New York in the Fifties and Returning: A Spiritual Journey.His novel, Going All the Way was made into a movie starring Ben Affleck. Wakefield also created the NBC prime time series, James at Fifteen. He will be available to sign books following his presentation at the Vonnegut Library.
