More than a repeat of your last composition class, this course focuses on how your narrator’s voice sounds, how your characters sound, and how to use grammar and mechanics in your prose to create the voices you want your reader to hear. We do a crash course on control over grammar and mechanics—punctuation, phrasing, and application of the parts of speech. We’ll also look at tone, idioms, the vernacular, and slang, and the methods for making this attract, rather than distract, your reader.
