Playwriting allows writers to tell stories using a unique medium–live performance. But how to leverage the opportunity so that the harnesses the full power of the audience’s imagination? Just click your ruby heels together and say: “there’s no place like narrative.” The class will focus on the seven key fundamentals of narrative structure. In the five sessions, writers will develop and produce a ten-minute play, using these seven fundamentals. Time permitting; writers will also be able to present ideas (and pages) for full-length works as well. This course is beneficial for new playwrights, or playwrights with experience who have never been exposed to formal training and want to review the basics.
