Indianapolis, IN- Mass Ave gallery, the Art Bank, has announced Second Friday Family Night. The night will be art fun for all ages, geared to get everyone involved and thinking about and learning to appreciate art. In addition to being an IDADA gallery and IDADA First Friday Arts Tour location, this additional night gives a chance for patrons to further interact with the artists and the Featured Artist, without having to find a babysitter for the evening. The first Second Friday Family Night will be Friday, October 10th, 6-9pm. Admission is Free. The Featured Artist will be Rick Larimore, and his "Beauty of Wood" sculpture art.

The Art Bank has been offering Second Friday since September, 2012, as an additional chance to meet many of the nearly 40 artists showing at the former bank-now gallery. Always offering it with a sense of community, including charity drives and artist demonstrations, Second Friday will now be geared toward family fun.

"You hear a lot about parents wanting to take in the local art scene, but having difficulties finding a sitter, or feeling bad that they couldn't bring their kids along to see the art. We feel that art appreciation should start at an early age, 'get 'em while they're young,' and when (Assistant Manager) Twyla Jackson brought the idea up, it totally felt like the direction we should go: A night where parents and kids, together, can learn about the artists in their community," said Joy Hernandez, Gallery Manager.

Each Second Friday will offer an arts and crafts project based off of the Featured Artist of the month, as well as a questionnaire to help parents and kids, alike, to think about the art in a new way, or a way not considered before.
