Presented by The Indianapolis Public Library at Central Library

Individuals of all ages are invited for an afternoon of inspiration and cultural entertainment during this program sponsored by the Library's African-American History Committee. Featured speaker will be Tamika Catchings, former WNBA MVP with the Indiana Fever who's the author of the book, "Dreams Are for Catching: Discovering the Star in You, the Inspiring Story of Tamika Catchings." In addition, an awards ceremony and poetry performance will feature winners of the teen Slammin' Rhymes Poetry Challenge IX.(Entry deadline for Marion County students in grades 9 – 12 is October 27. More information is available at www.indypl.org.) This year's theme is "Raising the Bar – I am Connected, Unique and Powerful!" There will also be performances by the Sankofa Fare Institute African dance and drum ensemble; R&B, jazz and blues musician Goldie Johnson, the Deckademic DJ School, the Top Flight All Stars of Indiana elite cheerleading team; and poet and spoken word artist Manon "Voice" Bullock.
This program, to be held in Central Library's Clowes Auditorium, is made possible by the Tracy L. Haddad Foundation, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation; The Donna D.
