From story quilts to kente cloth, textiles and fiber arts are a vehicle of storytelling to connect the past with the future and one culture with another. Join the GPAC for this unique exhibition where artists from across the country who work in fibers and textiles, as well as work that mimics textiles, were invited to submit a broad range of work, from the traditional to the unconventional. This exhibition is a celebration not only of the actual object, but the story that is connected to the meaning and the creation of the pieces. Opening reception Saturday, November 1, from 5:00 – 7:00pm. Exhibition open all regular GPAC hours. Both events are free.
