"Will you marry me," as four words, hold such promise—but they have been mired in social and political conversations and controversies in the United States for centuries. This topic, which should be surrounded by joy, has become a difficult conversation for many.
Join us for an engaging civic dialogue as we ground this topic in history through a theater piece and panel discussion. The panel will be moderated by Judge David J. Dreyer, Marion Superior Court, and feature Regional Minister Richard L. Spleth, Disciples of Christ, Christian Church in Indiana and Judge Tanya Walton Pratt, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
Following the panel discussion, join us for refreshments, conversation and art in coordination with The Circle: Jews, Germans and Hoosiers in Conversation. You can be a part of a community art project as you create collages. Selected collages will be scanned for posting on our Facebook page, allowing the evening's discussion to continue on line.
Free. Seating is limited and advance registration is required at www.indianahistory.org
