The Space Between

Presented by Marian University at Unknown

Indianapolis, INDIANA– The Space Between features the photographs of Fran Lattanzio and will be on display in the Marian University Art Gallery from January 20th-February 27th. An opening reception will be held January 29th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Lattanzio was influenced by use of the pinhole camera, which is essentially a light-proof box with a hole in one side of it. She states, “During the time that I have worked with photography, I have seen many changes to materials and processes, many of which have significant impact on visual possibilities.” While the subject matter of her photographs might appear to be architectural at first, she sees her true subject as the relationships of space.

Fran Lattanzio is a Professor in the Department of Art at Indiana State University. She is the recipient of numerous grants and awards including Indiana Arts Commission Individual Artist Grant in 2010/11. In 2012 she gave a gallery talk entitled “Reflecting Terre Haute” at the Swope Museum in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The Marian University Art Gallery is located on the west end of the second floor of Marian Hall. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays, although appointments at later times are welcome. Please contact Gallery Director Jenny Ambroise at jambroise@marian.edu with any inquiries.
