Indianapolis Suzuki Academy Gala

Indianapolis Suzuki Academy Gala

Presented by Indianapolis Suzuki Academy at Indiana Landmarks Center

The sounds of musical instruments, the smells of fine food, and the sights of auction items will combine for a delightful evening that is designed to help the Indianapolis Suzuki Academy make a positive influence on youth and families through music.

ISA’s Reach for the Stars Gala is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on May 3 at the Indiana Landmarks Center, 1201 Central Avenue. General admission is $60.00. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at www.indysuzukiacademy.org.

During the first hour, guests can seize the opportunity at the silent auction to peruse items and place bids. At 5:00 p.m. a three-course dinner with appetizers, entrees, and desserts should help whet appetites for the entertainment and silent auction. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are available at a cash bar.

The featured entertainment will be renowned chamber performers Austin Hartman, violin, and Adriana Contino, cello. Honors students, selected by audition, will perform throughout the evening. The ISA faculty will join the students and featured artists on stage to perform a thrilling grand finale, “Por una Cabeza.”

For the silent auction portion of the gala, ISA has received generous donations that will appeal to guests of many ages and areas of many interests.  Disney tickets, museum passes, restaurant certificates, sports tickets, wine and tourist attractions in Indianapolis and beyond are among items up for bidding.  Proceeds from the auction will support programs such as scholarships, instruction and improvements to music studios.

The Indianapolis Suzuki Academy is a not-for-profit educational organization, providing instruction for violin, viola, cello and piano. Its main location at 3959 Central Avenue serves students from all over the Indianapolis metropolitan area. ISA has active programs at the Children’s Museum Preschool, Traders Point Christian Academy and Coram Deo Academy. For more information, visit www.indysuzukiacademy.org.

The Indianapolis Suzuki Academy is named after Dr. Shinichi Suzuki (1898-1998), who invented and developed the pedagogical methods and philosophy that are taught worldwide. Dr. Suzuki’s system has formed the technical foundation, developed a strong repertoire, and stirred a musical passion for many young people around the world, including some of the world’s most accomplished and renowned performers such as Hilary Hahn, Rachel Barton Pine, and Nick Kendall. Kendall is a member of Time for Three, the resident ensemble with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
