Are you fascinated by events of the past? Intrigued by how people lived and what they thought—and ate and wore and did to stave off boredom? Do you wonder what it was like to ride in the clamor of the battle of Waterloo, or to fear for your life—and for your newborn daughter—in an outbreak of the plague? Would you like to live in another time, by way of writing fiction? If so, this class is for you! How much research is enough? How true to the historical facts must you remain? How much history do you need to include—and how much must you leave out? How can you get into the mind of a character who really lived?  How can you resist judging your characters by today’s standards? Participants will learn learn the answers to these questions—and more. Guaranteed to jumpstart (or perhaps revive) the historical novel you want to write. is geared to help you get started on —and complete—that historical novel you’ve dreamed of writing.
