The first question to answer is, Do you have a book in you? If so, the basics of submitting to agents and publishers need be learned and will be explained in the class. How to direct publish (self publish) will be explained and the advantages and disadvantages of attempting traditional publishing versus direct publishing will be discussed. Methods and strategies for marketing and promotion of your book will be considered. Jeff Rasley will share his wealth of experience in traditional publishing and direct publishing as an author of eight books, partner in an e-book publishing company, and writing coach. Alicia Rasley teaches writing at two colleges and online, as well as in writing workshops around the country. She is published in both fiction and non-fiction, and her book The Year She Fell was a #1 Amazon-Kindle bestseller. She has been through it all – the editors and agents, the contracts and advances, the big publishers and the small publishers, the agony and the ecstasy. And she is glad to share that experience with other writers. Her writing/editing blog is at http://www.edittorrent.blogspot.com
