Indiana's Innovative Automotive Designs

Presented by Indiana Landmarks at Cook Theater at Indiana Landmarks Center

On August 20, Indiana Landmarks’ Indiana Automotive affinity group hosts a talk on Indiana’s innovative automotive designs.

Author Dennis Horvath highlights the Hoosier state’s role in automotive innovation by focusing on three Indiana-built cars — the “Twenty Grand” Duesenberg exhibited at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1933, the Cord Model 810 that debuted at the New York Auto Show in 1935, and the Studebaker Avanti, introduced simultaneously in 1962 at the New York International Automobile Show and the Studebaker shareholders meeting.

Horvath’s lecture and PowerPoint will show the innovations represented by these groundbreaking cars and reveal how the designs were embraced in the marketplace.

Light refreshments at 5:30 pm, lecture at 6 pm, followed by Q&A.
