A River Runs Through it: Connecting Life in Indiana to the Waters around Us

Presented by Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter at Indiana Interchurch Center

Throughout the month of September, the Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter presents A River Runs Through it: Connecting Life in Indiana to the Waters around Us.  This fall exhibit will feature art that explores the vital need for stewardship, sustainability, awareness, and advocacy for Indiana’s water. One of the exhibit’s goals is to broaden participation by including people who do not have extensive art background but who would like to express themselves on environmental issues they feel passionately about.

The theme this year relates to the Hoosier Chapter’s recently created Pratt Protecting Indiana’s Waters Endowment, which will pay for water-testing supplies and training for the volunteers in our expanding Water Sentinels program. These volunteers spend their free time as citizen scientists. They test local streams, rivers, and lakes to identify unchecked industrial pollution.

Community members are also invited to attend a reception for this event.  This event, featuring the artists, will be on Friday, September 18 6-8 PM and will include musical entertainment and light hors d’oeuvres.
