GermanFest has historically been one of our most profound ways to reach the Hoosier community and one of the most enjoyable and educational events hosted by the Athenaeum. It is very lively with continuous entertainment, food, and games for friends and family. The day begins with our annual FAST5K! and never slows down until it’s time to leave. There’s lots of beer, pretzels, sausage and other food to devour as the day goes on, with only games and dance as a break in-between. The strong-man competition and wiener dog race are among the best events of the day and they have definitely won their place. These two games provide lots of laughter and amusement for the family while people get to know some of the greatest German traditions around. This is an event for the whole family, so there are of course many more games to enjoy for both adults and children.

            For those of you who don’t want to miss out: GermanFest will take place at the Athenaeum building on October 10th from 12-8pm. Secure tickets early on our website at athenaeumfoundation.org. Tickets will be $8 in advance and $10 at the door, so make sure to purchase early to get the discounted price!
