Join us at The Warehouse for The Count Meets The Duke featuring the music of Count Basie and Duke Ellington performed by the Heartland Big Band  with special guest vocalist Everett Greene.

Jazz royalty comes together with the music of Count Basie and Duke Ellington in a concert featuring the music of two of big bands greatest leaders.  Joined by special guest vocalist Everett Greene, the Heartland Big Band performs the greatest hits performed by both jazz legends “cabaret style” at The Warehouse.  Song titles include IT DON’T MEAN A THING IF IT AIN’T GOT THAT SWING, SATIN DOLL, CORNER POCKET, DO NOTHING TIL YOU HEAR FROM ME…and many more!

About Everett Greene

Bass baritone singer, Actor, Narrator, and Voice Over talent…Everett’s unmistakable voice has been recognized over the last 60 years throughout the country and abroad. Starting his singing roots as a vocalist in a male Do-Wop quartet, he discovered and fell in love with jazz when he moved to Indianapolis 50 plus years ago.

Everett’s use of his deep rich voice has made him a well sought out talent that has enabled him to sing with a lot of the jazz, blues, and gospel greats. He has performed with jazz greats Wes Montgomery, Snooky Young, David Baker, JR Mance, Norman Simmons, Larry Ridley, and Buddy Montgomery, just to name a few. He has been a featured vocalist throughout the United States, Canada, Africa, Japan, Italy, Germany in jazz festivals, cruise ships, a concert venues as a guest artist and singer. Jazz festival credits include the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Indianapolis Jazz Festival, the World Music Festival in Japan, the Rhinelander Jazz Festival, and dozens more.

About The Heartland Big Band

The Heartland Big Band is the primary performing ensemble of the Heartland Jazz Heritage Foundation. Just as classical orchestras perform great Symphonic music, the Heartland Big Band preserves and performs great big band music!

Since 2004, they’ve enjoyed performing the big band sound through their live concert performances of yesterday and today’s swingin’ music. Performing standards using the Great American Songbook and the Great American “Swing” Book, their mission is to continue to keep our true American art form of jazz and swing alive in the heartland of America!

The Heartland Big Band’s themed concerts have audiences coming back for more as they present original arrangements and transcriptions of some of your favorite vocal and big band songs! Join the Heartland Big Band and special guest vocalists as they present today’s big band sounds in a LIVE concert performance of America’s only true art form of swing music!
