Community Day: Autumn Equinox

Community Day: Autumn Equinox

Presented by Newfields at Indianapolis Museum of Art

Enjoy Soundscapes, immersive performances by local and national sound artists and musicians influenced by the natural and man-made elements of The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park: 100 Acres. Learn how a glass wall can transform into a giant resonating speaker, go water mining with aqua phones, walk through a cicada tunnel and experience the sound of violins amongst the trees. Performers include Chris Kallmyer (Los Angeles), Nat Evans (Seattle), John McCormick (New York) and Indianapolis local Robin Cox.

Celebrate the fall planting season and pick up new additions for your garden at the Native Tree & Spring Blooming Bulb Sale. Peruse a diverse selection of hard to find Indiana natives and unusual bulbs inspired by those in the IMA gardens. The first of its kind, this one-day sale is hosted by the Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse and will take place at Newfield, offering easy parking and plant pick-up. This sale is made possible through a partnership with Woody Warehouse in Lizton, Ind.

IMA Community Days are supported by The Hagerman Group and are part of the IMA’s ARTx series, made possible by a gift from the Efroymson Family Fund.
