IVCI WINNER JINJOO CHO PLAYS TCHAIKOVKSY

IVCI WINNER JINJOO CHO PLAYS TCHAIKOVKSY

Presented by Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra at Hilbert Circle Theatre

Hear IVCI winner Jinjoo Cho play Tchaikovsky’s virtuosic masterpiece, the Violin Concerto in D Major! Tchaikovsky worked closely with his student, violinist Iosif Kotek, to compose the work and it has earned a permanent place in the violin repertory as one of the most difficult pieces in existence. You’ll also hear Eduard Elgar’s “Enigma” Variations, short musical portraits of the composer’s closest friends. Elgar quotes clarinet music from Mendelssohn’s Calm Sea and may also have included mysterious musical messages in this enchanting work which have kept audiences guessing since its premiere.
