SECOND (CHANCE) STRINGS

SECOND (CHANCE) STRINGS

Presented by Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra at Hilbert Circle Theatre

FREE EVENT
RSVP BY NOVEMBER 6

Always dreamed of playing an instrument? Have your first lesson on stage at the Hilbert Circle Theatre—a fun event for adult beginners!

Grab a violin and take your place on stage at the Hilbert Circle Theatre, iconic home of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO) faculty, Shannon Crow and Jesse Hawkins, as well as student mentors, will teach our rookie/rusty musicians the notes needed to play MYO’s signature piece, Pachelbel’s Canon in D. As a grand finale, musicians will experience the magic of performing Pachelbel’s Cannon onstage with violin soloist, Jesse Hawkins. Feeling proud and ready for more, we will then adjourn to the lobby to toast our success and invite everyone to continue to pursue their musical dreams with the IUPUI String Academy or the MYO.

Not sure is playing an instrument is right for you? Our orchestra will need an audience too! Confirm your RSVP as an audience member and get a sneak peek behind the scenes at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. We have something special planned for everyone regardless of participation level.

RSVP required by November 6. “Musician” spaces limited to 30 on a first-come, first-serve basis. Unlimited audience member participation. Registrants will receive a confirmation of their preference no later than November 6.

Presented as part of the Spirit & Place Festival by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, IUPUI Music Academy, and Encore Orchestral Strings.
