IDADA to Celebrate 10 Years with First Friday Membership Exhibition

The Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association (IDADA) has announced the 2015 Membership Exhibition, to honor 10 years of the IDADA First Friday Art Tour. Sponsored by the Riley Area Development Corporation (RADC), the Membership Exhibition will be located at 877 Massachusetts Ave, in the Trailside Building of the Mass Ave Arts & Theatre District.  The Exhibition will open Friday, October 2nd, running that evening 6-9pm, with additional hours on Saturday, October 3rd. The show will be open for viewing before closing on Sunday, October 4th. Admission on all days is free.

About Membership Exhibition

The 2015 Membership Exhibition will showcase 20 pieces of art selected by Juror Mark L. Smith, PhD, co-director of Flatbed Press Inc., in Austin, Texas, and, recently, an adjunct professor at the Herron School of Art and Design.

“I was delighted to see that there were many works that express high degress of personal and poetic feelings,” said Smith. “The complex world in which we all live is so demanding that it is especially therapeutic to experience some personal and beautiful images that connect with our hearts.”

Selections include work by artists William Denton Ray, Katz Lee Finch, Martha Carlson, Emma Overman, Jessica Springman, Jade Haggard, Katrina Murray, and many more. Jade Haggard will also give a demonstration of her paint and magnet technique, in correspondence with National Manufacturers Day.
