Without tension, you don’t have a story. It could be internal or external – between humanity and aliens or the morality of the protagonist. Suspense is the logical next step to recognizing tension, keeping the reader wanting to know what happens. And pacing is the interaction of the previous two elements. Bring what you’ve been working on, especially something you’re having problems with.
