“Eyes of History” Photo Exhibit

“Eyes of History” Photo Exhibit

Presented by The Indianapolis Public Library at Central Library

Individuals of all ages are invited to view news images as part of the national traveling exhibit, “Eyes of History,” presented by the White House News Photographers Association.

The images represent more than 70 winning entries in the 2015 “Eyes of History” competition. Still photography, video and multimedia works from such news services as Getty Images, Agence France-Presse, ITN, The Washington Post, National Geographic and NPR will be displayed.

In judging that occurred earlier in 2015, Getty Images photographer Win McNamee was named “Photographer of the Year.” Agence France-Presse photographer Brendan Smialowski won the “Political Photo of the Year” award. Ben Martin of ITN was awarded the “Videographer of the Year” in the competition’s video contest. Other news organizations earned citations in various multimedia categories.

The 95-year-old non-profit WHNPA supports Washington’s professional photojournalists in their work to chronicle images from the White House, Capitol Hill, embassies and other governmental organizations.

“Eyes of History” is available for viewing in Central Library’s South Display Hall during regular Library hours.
