Writer-storytellers Philip Gulley and Scott Russell Sanders and join singer-songwriters Tim Grimm and Krista Detor on Friday, January 15, in a performance that weaves together stories and music in a Bicentennial celebration of all things Hoosier.
The performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Cook Theater at Indiana Landmarks Center, a repurposed nineteenth-century church restored for the nonprofit preservation organization by Bloomington’s Cook family.
The performers promise art that engages the mind and stirs the soul—handmade, heartfelt songs, essays, and stories that relate to Indiana and its history. Grimm and Detor will perform original songs based on Indiana history, people and places. Gulley will deliver some of his Hoosier essays and Sanders will read from new works of historical fiction. The artists’ recordings and books will be available for sale and the artists will be available for signing following the performance.
