Children and families are invited to this outstanding series of free performances by Indy’s leading jazz musicians. They are a great way to share jazz music with children that will be fun for everyone! These hour-long programs are presented by the Learning Curve at Central Library in partnership with The Indianapolis Jazz Foundation and Indy Jazz Fest. This fifth fun season kicks off with a performance, to be held in Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium, by the Rob Dixon Quartet. Dixon has played saxophone with musicians such as the Count Basie Band, Ray Charles and the Smithsonian Masterworks Orchestra, and has introduced jazz to children through many school and community programs. This quartet draws from a variety of music genres to create its own original jazz sound.
