Printmaker James Hubbard’s show,is entitled Secret Garden, seen at Five Seasons Studio throughout February. Made by carving into cork or copper, Hubbard’s prints reveal his connection with the land. Patterns within nature found in his garden and travels are transformed into exquisite etchings and linocuts of land, water, and sky. Trained as a metalsmith at Indiana University, Hubbard’s art has evolved to printmaking. A life-long educator, Hubbard now teaches printmaking at the Indianapolis Art Center. An awad winner, he participates in local, regional,and national exhibitions. Memberships include the Hoosier Salon, Society of American Graphic Artists, Indiana Artists, Sixty-Seventh Street Printmakers, IMA Art Print Study Group, Mid-America Print Council, and Southern Graphics Council International.
